Phishing scams are becoming more and more sophisticated. We know that entities can be targeted as well as individuals. Fake and fraudulent emails coming in may look legit in every way; but when someone is asking for instant money through wire transfers or visa gift cards please be on the alert. The safest way is to verify the request with a simple additional step – Reach out to the vender and/or source of the email and ask them if they made such a request. It is important to create a new string of communication – start with a quick call to your vendor and/or client before processing payment. 

The important thing to remember is when in doubt check it out with the vendor and/or client so that you do not end up with a monetary loss from one of these sophisticated scams.
